Nerhol is a duo of Japanese artists, Ryuta Iida (b. 1981), the sculptor and the graphic designer Yoshihisa Tanaka (b. 1980). Founded in 2007 in Japan, together they keep exploring the expanding concept of the portrait by combining photographic and sculptural techniques. They have been awarded the BACON PRIZE / ART FAIR TOKYO 2013, and in 2014 were selected as one of the Foam Talents, featured in Foam Magazine and at Unseen. In 2015, they had their first international solo exhibition “Index” at Foam Photography Museum in Amsterdam. Their solo exhibition in Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art was held in May 2016.
