Maurice van Es (1984, Rijnsburg, the Netherlands) is a visual artist who works with photography. In 2013 he graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague with a book cassette containing seven different books titled ‘Now Will Not Be With Us Forever’ - a project that focuses on the temporal dimensions intrinsic to the medium of photography.
In his book ‘Rooms of Now’ he makes books out of houses in a single edition, just for the people who live in it. His work has been exhibited in New York, Paris, London and Amsterdam and Van Es recently won the Portfolio Review at Dusseldorf Photo Weekend 2014.
He predominantly works with the subject of his memories and his direct surroundings.
