Letha Wilson is a mixed media artist who was born in Honolulu, raised in Colorado and currently lives in Brooklyn. Her outdoor excursions in the Rocky Mountains have placed the natural world and its photographic image at the root of her artistic interests. She earned her BFA from Syracuse University, and an MFA from Hunter College in New York City. Letha's artwork has been shown at many venues including the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Socrates Sculpture Park, Exit Art, White Box, Platform Gallery, Fredrieke Taylor Gallery, BravinLee Programs, Partipant Inc., and the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art. In 2009, Letha was a resident at the Santa Fe Art Institute, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and was nominated for the Louis Comfort Tiffany Award. Letha was selected by Smack Mellon as a 2010 Hot Picks Artist, and in 2011 had a solo show at Vox Populi in Philadelphia and was an artist-in-residence at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art.
Letha Wilson will be premiering new work at Unseen 2014. Please note: The work here is not the premiere itself, but an indication of the work that will be shown at the fair.
