Lara Tabet (LB, 1983) is a Lebanese visual artist and pathologist. In 2012, after finishing her residency in Clinical Pathology at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, Tabet completed a one-year full time program at the International Center of Photography in New York and was the recipient of the Lisette Model scholarship. The composition and presentation of her photographs demonstrate her background in pathology and inspects the legacy of trauma in Lebanon.
Randa Mirza (LB, 1978) explores the notion of identity: she seeks to review normalized, gendered and orientalist representations by making visible the current symbolic, social and political constructs.Through her work, Mirza questions the nature of images and their social uses. She manipulates the photographic image to reveal the discourses inherent in all representations, on the tenuous border between fiction and reality.
